First Impressions...

Well my first impression of Shakespears langauge is that its hard! Also that its kinda different from our language today. His language is more polite and like old people language. It's really hard to understand. uhhh... my first impression on Romeo and Juliet was that it was goin to be a little diffucult to read but it would be a great book to read. I've always heard of Romeo and Juliet, but i never actually read the book. So i think its intrestin i am goin to read it in class.

Presentation

Well I learned alot of things from the presentations....
First lets start off with my presentation....my question was #3 it asks which person represented false hope, the gypsy women or the old man? At first I thought the old man just represented false hope because he wanted his payment on the spot and the gypsy women wanted one-tenth of the tresure once santiago found it. But when we presented i seen that both show represent false hope. I also learned that if your going to pursue your personal legend or just listening to anything or anyone you have to question what they are telling you... you cant just assume things... i could kind of relate to this because i was put into a situation where i have to choose who to listen to because some of my friends told me one thing n the others told me a different thing, but you just have to lay it all out n think really hard n how its goin to effect you in the long run.

Second is Andy Peggy and Karmens group, which had question #2. I believe there question was about the natural world. I think we have or will sometime in the future have an experience talking to the natural world. I aslo learned that you cant go n talk to the natural i think it has to come to you! even if you dont kno it i think it is always talkin to you. if you really think about it its scary! well it scares me. I learned alot of things that are very intresting. Maybe i would have learned more if i read the book =/ hehe.

The Lost Boy

Well The Lost Boy is about a little boy who was abused by his mother. He was sent to a foster home and the book just tells his life while he was in 5 different foster homes. I think the people who should read this is high school people and people who are or were abused. I think the people who are or were abused should read this because it shows that abused people could get help and live a new life. It may be hard in the begining but with help from people who love you or care for you , you could overcome your past.(that sentence sounds weird i dont think overcome is a good word haha) well yeah and for high school people i think they would like it it is very intresting.

Dear David Plezer,

I really enjoyed your book The Lost Boy. I also read your first book A Child Called "IT" and i really liked that one too. Your story is really intresting and I'm sorry that your mother abused you. But why did you go down her street with Big Larry? And why were you going to lie about your mother abusing you? If Ms. Gold was your Angel why would you lie to her? Did you ever Mrs.Cantanze ever again or keep in touch? Do you get along with your mother now? Did you miss your mother while you were in Foster Care? Did your brothers ever abused you? Why didn't they say or tell anyone? Do you keep in touch with them?

Sincerely,
Corina Zamorano

The Alchemist

Santiago first learns of one's Personal Legend from The King of Salem, who tells him "It's what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is."He expounds on this saying "...there is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it's because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It's your mission on earth." The King also tells Santiago of the importance of following the omens on the journey to realizing one's personal legend...

I've had lots of dreams before...fun ones, good ones, bad ones, scary ones, all kinds of them. But I think dreams are a great experience...For example dreams could be telling you something important....but you have to make a decision if you want to follow it or not. For instants in The Alchemist Santiago has a dream and follows it... I think Santiago made a wise decision for following his dream. If I would ever have a dream that i would have to decide if I should follow it or not I think I would think about it.
